Dovedu Terms of Use
Last updated: 14 October 2026. These terms apply from that date.
These terms are an agreement between you and Odyssean LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Washington, United States ("we", "us"), about the Dovedu app for Android (Доведу in Ukrainian; "the app"). Address: 4730 University Way NE, Ste 104-5528, Seattle, WA 98105, United States. Email: team@dovedu.app.
The short version
- The app shows your position on a map and tells you when it cannot stand behind it.
- The position can be wrong. You are the driver, and you stay responsible. Do not use the app in an emergency or anywhere a wrong position could hurt someone.
- The app is new. It may fail, use a lot of battery, or not work on your phone.
- It is free. If we ever add paid features, we will tell you before anything costs money.
- How we handle your data is explained in the Privacy Policy.
1. Agreement
By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Google Play's own terms also apply to how you get the app from Google Play.
2. What the app does
- It computes your phone's position on the phone itself, from satellite signals, motion sensors, Android's network location, mobile cells and Wi-Fi, and, if you connect one, an OBD adapter in your car.
- It shows that position on a map.
- It tells you when it cannot stand behind a position, instead of guessing.
- It finds addresses and draws a route line to your destination.
- While positioning is on (from when you open the app until you tap Stop, or until it shuts down by itself after the car has stood for a while), it records your trips on your phone, as the Privacy Policy explains.
It does not give turn-by-turn or voice guidance.
3. Navigation: the position can be wrong
Please read this section.
- The position can be wrong, sometimes by a lot. Satellite signals can disappear or give a wrong position. The app tries to notice this, but it will not notice every time.
- When the app says it is unsure, believe it. When it says it is sure, it can still be wrong.
- Maps, addresses and routes can be wrong or out of date. Roads close, and maps have errors. A route may lead to closed, restricted or unsafe places. Road signs, the police and official instructions always come before the app.
- You are the driver, and you stay responsible for how you drive, where you go and for following traffic rules. Watch the road, not the phone. Set your destination before you drive, or let a passenger do it.
- Do not use the app for emergencies or safety-critical tasks: calling or guiding emergency services, rescue, aviation, boating, or anything where a wrong position could hurt someone. In an emergency, call your local emergency number (112 in Ukraine and the European Union).
4. An early app
- The app is in early development. It may crash, stop recording, freeze the position, or not work on your phone.
- Recording uses battery and storage, up to about 40 MB per hour, and long recordings can warm the phone. Plug it in for long drives.
- Sending recordings uses data. By default, files are sent only over Wi-Fi.
- We may change, pause or stop the app or any of its features at any time.
5. Who may use the app
To use the app, you must:
- be at least 18 years old;
- not use it with a Russian or Belarusian SIM card in the phone (the app does not work with one);
- be able to enter into this agreement under the law of your country;
- not be in a country or region where US sanctions or export control law forbid us to provide the app, and not be on a US government list of restricted persons.
6. Acceptable use
Do not:
- let the app distract you while driving;
- use the app to break the law, including any law that restricts recording, publishing or sharing information about certain places;
- use the app, or its recordings, to harm, follow or target people or places;
- track another person without their knowledge, for example by hiding a phone with the app in their car;
- disrupt our servers, overload them, or send them false data on purpose;
- copy, sell or redistribute the app, or reverse engineer it, except where the law allows it.
We may block uploads from an installation that breaks these rules, and we may report illegal activity to the authorities.
7. Your data
The Privacy Policy explains what the app records, what it sends and what you control. When you send us data, you allow us to store and use it as the Privacy Policy describes: to fix faults and to make positioning more accurate. We do not sell it, use it for advertising or publish it.
8. Feedback
We welcome ideas and reports. If you send us a suggestion, we may use it freely, without owing you anything for it.
9. Maps and other services
- Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License.
- The app uses outside services for map images, address search, routes, satellite orbit files, the time and map downloads (Privacy Policy, section 4). We do not control them and are not responsible for them. They may change or stop.
- Your mobile operator may charge you for the data the app uses.
10. Price
The app is free. If we ever introduce paid features, we will tell you in the app before anything costs money. Nothing will be charged unless you buy it yourself through Google Play.
11. Our rights
The app, its design, its code and its name belong to us or to our licensors. Open-source parts of the app are covered by their own licences. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app on phones you own or control, for as long as you follow these terms. These terms give you no other rights to the app.
12. No warranty
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS.
In plain words: we do not promise that the position will be right, that the app will always work, or that it will work on your phone.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS:
- WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL LOSSES, INCLUDING LOSSES FROM RELYING ON A POSITION, ADDRESS OR ROUTE SHOWN BY THE APP, FROM A FROZEN OR MISSING POSITION, OR FROM LOST DATA;
- OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR US$50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep all the rights that your local consumer law gives you.
14. Ending
- You can stop using the app at any time: tap Stop, then uninstall it. To have the data you sent deleted, follow section 10 of the Privacy Policy.
- We may stop providing the app, or block an installation that breaks these terms.
- Sections 3, 7, 12 and 13 continue to apply after you stop using the app.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it applies. If you do not agree with the new terms, stop using the app.
16. Law and disputes
- Before starting any legal claim, please write to team@dovedu.app and give us 30 days to resolve it.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States. Disputes go to the courts of King County, Washington. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and the right to bring a claim in its courts.
17. General
- These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the app.
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a rule at once, we can still enforce it later.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours, for example if the company is sold; the new owner would be bound by them.
- We are not responsible for failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, emergencies, actions of public authorities, power cuts, network outages and loss of satellite signals.
- These terms exist in English and Ukrainian. If the two versions differ, the Ukrainian version applies to users in Ukraine and the English version to everyone else.
